Bus Tours

The Elkhart County Historical Museum gladly welcomes tour bus groups to our facility.  We are here to make your visit to Amish Country memorable, enjoyable, and enlightening.

Tour Offerings
The majority of bus tours come for our "Stitches of Devotion" program. At this special behind-the-scenes program, visitors are treated to an exclusive showing of some of the museum's beautiful bedcovers.  You get to hear the remarkable story and history behind each quilt and learn about the people who lovingly crafted them.

A group from Alpine Pleasures Tours admires a Grandmother's Fan quilt.

After the quilt show, visitors take a self-guided tour of the museum's 12 exhibit rooms.  Docents are stationed on each floor to answer any questions.

Quilting not your thing? The museum does offer several other tour options for groups as well.

Group Size
The museum can comfortably handle groups of 10 to 100 people at a time.  If your group is larger than 100 people, please contact the museum at 574-848-4322 to discuss dividing your group for separate visits during your stay in Elkhart County.

The cost for a visit to the museum is $3/person.

We can accomodate tour bus groups year-round Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.  We are closed on major holidays.

Site Accessibility
Museum exhibits and amenities are located on all three floors of the building.  Access to each level is available by stairway or electronic chair lift.  The museum does not have an elevator.  Museum staff will be available to operate the chair lift and provide additional support to direct our guests to amenities.

To register your group for a tour call Marlene at 574-535-6458.
