Where to Start Your Research
Our website is the one of the best places to begin your research, and we encourage you to start your search by exploring our Library Catalog, Source List, browsing our Collection Guides, Photograph Collection List, or Subject Files. The Source List is our most comprehensive inventory of our historical materials.
Visiting the Archives
We hope you get the chance to visit the Elkhart County Historical Museum during your research. For more information, please see our visiting pages to find details about directions and parking, hours of operation, and information you will need to know about conducting research in the Corson Local History Library & Special Collections Reading Room, including our rules and regulations.
During the reading room hours, the reference desk is staffed with people to help you during your visit. When you are visiting our facility, please direct questions to the individual at the reference desk. If necessary, they can refer you to a specific staff member or volunteer to provide more in-depth assistance. A self-serve photocopier is available in the reading room and costs $.10 per copy. Digital copies of documents and images may also be arranged; please visit our image and media request page for more information.
If You Cannot Visit the Archives
If you are unable to visit our facility but would like to request information about materials from our collections, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that we are unable to complete extensive research requests of a general nature. We encourage you to complete as much research as possible via our website before submitting a research request, and to include as complete a citation or description of the material you are requesting as you can provide. All research requests are subject to the research request fees listed on the Fees & Photocopies page.
